Digvijaya Singh quotes foreign agency report, questions airstrike success

Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, who has asked the Centre to provide evidence of casualties in airstrike carried out by India in Pakistan’s Balakot, on Wednesday cited a foreign agency report which has questioned success of the bombings.
With the headline ‘satellite images show madrasa buildings still standing at scene of Indian bombing’, Digvijaya Singh attached the Reuter’s report on .Basing its report on satellite images, Reuters has claimed that madrasa buildings continue to stand tall at scene of the bombing in Pakistan.”High-resolution satellite images reviewed by Reuters show that a religious school run by Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) in northeastern Pakistan appears to be still standing days after India claimed its warplanes had hit the Islamist group’s training camp on the site and killed a large number of militants,” the report says.
In the report, images produced by a San Francisco-based private satellite operator, are shown at least six buildings on the madrasa site on March 4, six days after the airstrike.According to Reuters, the image is virtually unchanged from an April 2018 satellite photo of the facility.”There are no discernible holes in the roofs of buildings, no signs of scorching, blown-out walls, displaced trees around the madrasa or other signs of an aerial attack,” the report adds. The foreign agency report says the satellite images have cast “further doubt” on statements made over the last eight days by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the raids had hit all the intended targets at the madrasa site near Jaba village and the town of Balakot in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Earlier, Digvijaya Singh had come down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked him to clear the “doubts” cast by the international media on the terrorists’ deaths in the airstrike carried out by India in Pakistan’s Balakot.”We are proud of the bravery of your forces and have complete faith on them.I have seen many of my friends and close relatives in the Army leaving their families and protecting us. We respect them,” Singh tweeted.”However, the IAF carried out an airstrike after the Pulwama accident, some foreign media have cast doubts, which is putting a question mark on the credibility of our Indian government,” Singh said on .Singh said the way PM Modi and his ministers were treating the airstrike was an “insult” to the forces who carried out the operation.A war of words over the Indian Air Force airstrikes in Balakot has broken out between Congress and the BJP as both the sides traded charges against each other. Both the sides have accused each other for politicising the IAF airstrike.

New Delhi: February 28, 2019 12:51 IST Total Dhamaal is unstoppable at the box office.Total Dhamaal, that’s how Ajay Devgn and Madhuri Dixit’s recent release is performing at the box office.Indra Kumar’s directorial venture is busy casting its spell at the ticket windows. With each passing day, Total Dhamaal is inching towards the Rs 100-crore club. After crossing the Rs 80-crore on in 5 days, Total Dhamaal is refusing to slow down. After a fabulous 4 day collection, the film made Rs 8.75 crore on Tuesday. Wednesday was no less.
The film Rs 7.05 crore, thus taking the total to Rs 88.05 crore. The third instalment in the Dhamaal franchise brings Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit together after 19 years.Anil in a recent interview to an entertainment portal opened up on film’s success. He said, “I’m so thrilled to see how much people are enjoying Total Dhamaal. We set out to make an out-and-out family entertainer and judging by audiences’ response, we seem to be accomplishing that mission. It was such a blast making the film and I’m so happy that the fun has spilled onto the screen and into people’s hearts.”Directed by Indra Kumar, Total Dhamaal also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Johnny Lever, Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaaferi, Boman Irani, Sanjay Mishra and Esha Gupta in key roles. The film tells the tale of ten people, rushing to the Janakpur zoo to look for Rs 50 crore worth of booty.
India Today reviewer Lakshana Palat gave the film 2 stars out of 5 and said, “The little respite in this adventure-comedy is the pairing of Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit, who prove that they still have the same impeccable chemistry and partnership almost two decades later. While Ajay Devgn gives a fair performance with his poorly written character and punches, it’s surprisingly the otherwise fantastic Sanjay Mishra who is a letdown.
Overall, the film fails with its comedy and punch-lines and leaves you with a headache.”

It can be a beautiful and a sacred union if you are with the person you want to be with, but I dont understand the hoopla around it.The show goes behind the scenes of the event that we borrow money for, go into debt. Its more that than the actual marriage, Zoya told an audience at the series premiere on Tuesday evening.
The Gully Boy director said she and filmmaker Nitya Mehra, who is the show-runner, had been wanting to develop a story on this subject since she had been privy to what goes into making a wedding come alive. Previously, only officers were given air travel on these sectors.
The air travel is meant for times when personnel go on or return from leave. The Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the entitlement of air travel on Delhi-Srinagar, Srinagar-Delhi, Jammu-Srinagar and Srinagar-Jammu sectors to all the personnel of Central Armed Paramilitary Forces.February 21, 2019The decision will benefit around 780,000 personnel of the CAPFs in the ranks of constable, head constable and assistant sub inspector, who were otherwise not eligible to travel by air earlier. This facility is in addition to the existing air courier services for CAPFs that have been steadily extended in all sectors by the MHA to help the jawans cut down on travel time during their journey to and fro from home on leave.February 21, 2019The big rule change comes following February 14’s Pulwama terror attack in which 40 CRPF jawans were martyred. Obsessing about Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy? Watch these five essential hip-hop films/series next

“The thing about hip-hop today is it’s smart, it’s insightful. The way they can communicate a complex message in a very short space is remarkable.
weekendRanveer Singh in a still from the film Gully Boy.The thing about hip-hop today is it’s smart, it’s insightful. The way they can communicate a complex message in a very short space is remarkable.Barack Obama said that. That ought to be worth something. To some, it might seem as if Obama is simply stating the obvious. Of course, rap music is intelligent. We’ve heard Eminem rhyme about his daughters and Nas rap about his hood. But we’ve also heard Macklemore drawl about thrift shops and Badshah rap’ about chinchillas.
It’s a diverse genre, one that has transcended borders with universal themes of oppression and rebellion.Words like smart’, insightful’ and complex’ can be used to describe Gully Boy, the movie of the moment. Not only is it driven by music that isn’t Indian, it is directed by someone who has always made her preference for European cinema well known. And yet, it tells a story that is totally rooted in India – a section of India, in fact, that Zoya Akhtar has never set foot in, at least on film.
The challenges she faced are nothing to scoff at. In a country whose only real exposure to rap music is the popular stuff heard in Bollywood movies – keep in mind, Gully Boy is a Bollywood film – to introduce a whole new style of hip-hop, asli hip-hop’, isn’t easy. And yet, Gully Boy has been received with warmth. It was expected to do well, but its phenomenal box office opening suggests that it will play like a 90s Khan-driven musical romance.By the end of this weekend, many of you would have seen it. And it is perfectly fine for a lot of you to be curious – about a grimy new world, previously untouched by the gloss of Bollywood.
So after Gully Boy, here are five documentaries every rap music fan must watch:The Defiant OnesThe Defiant Ones, on Netflix, traces the history of the genre through the eyes of some of its biggest advocates, particularly pioneers Jimmy Iovine and Dr Dre, who did more to take rap music global than perhaps anyone else. You might also want to check out Rapture and Hip-Hop Evolution, two similarly themed series, also on Netflix.Something From Nothing: The Art of RapSomething From Nothing is a wonderful exploration about the techniques of rap music, and host Ice-T stages the coup to beat all coups by assembling the best rappers in the world – Ice Cube, Nas, Eminem – to talk about their craft in refreshingly passionate detail. But perhaps its most unexpected achievement is reminding audiences that once upon a time, Kanye West was talented.
Biggie TupacLike director Nick Broomfield’s other music documentary – a salacious account of rockstar Kurt Cobain’s suicide which suggested that his widow, Courtney Love might have been involved in his death – Biggie Tupac is a mostly sensational account of the biggest rivalry the rap industry has ever been seen. But beneath its blingy exterior, there lies a tale about a broken friendship, the corruption of art, and the tragic death of two of the brightest talents in rap music – The Notorious BIG and Tupac Shakur. You might also want to check out Tupac: Resurrection, the Oscar-nominated film which allows the late rapper to tell his own story.Nas: Time is IllmaticEast Coast rapper Nas’ 1994 album, Illmatic, is often considered to be among the finest rap records ever produced. The documentary offers an inside look into Nas’ life, his childhood growing up in New York, and how it influenced his music, which went on to define the East Coast sound. It is among the rare movies to have a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.Dave Chappelle’s Block PartyThere’s a lot going on in Dave Chappelle’s Block Party. It’s essentially a concert film (directed by Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’s Michel Gondry of all people), but it’s so much more than just a rap movie. It’s a celebration of a vibe – Boho Brooklyn at nighttime, populated by singers and songwriters and artists, all coming together as one – and it’s also a comedy, released immediately after Chappelle’s abrupt announcement that he was walking away from a $50 million deal to continue his show. Fair warning: might contain Kanye.
