Digvijaya Singh quotes foreign agency report, questions airstrike success

Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, who has asked the Centre to provide evidence of casualties in airstrike carried out by India in Pakistan’s Balakot, on Wednesday cited a foreign agency report which has questioned success of the bombings.
With the headline ‘satellite images show madrasa buildings still standing at scene of Indian bombing’, Digvijaya Singh attached the Reuter’s report on .Basing its report on satellite images, Reuters has claimed that madrasa buildings continue to stand tall at scene of the bombing in Pakistan.”High-resolution satellite images reviewed by Reuters show that a religious school run by Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) in northeastern Pakistan appears to be still standing days after India claimed its warplanes had hit the Islamist group’s training camp on the site and killed a large number of militants,” the report says.
In the report, images produced by a San Francisco-based private satellite operator, are shown at least six buildings on the madrasa site on March 4, six days after the airstrike.According to Reuters, the image is virtually unchanged from an April 2018 satellite photo of the facility.”There are no discernible holes in the roofs of buildings, no signs of scorching, blown-out walls, displaced trees around the madrasa or other signs of an aerial attack,” the report adds. The foreign agency report says the satellite images have cast “further doubt” on statements made over the last eight days by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the raids had hit all the intended targets at the madrasa site near Jaba village and the town of Balakot in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Earlier, Digvijaya Singh had come down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked him to clear the “doubts” cast by the international media on the terrorists’ deaths in the airstrike carried out by India in Pakistan’s Balakot.”We are proud of the bravery of your forces and have complete faith on them.I have seen many of my friends and close relatives in the Army leaving their families and protecting us. We respect them,” Singh tweeted.”However, the IAF carried out an airstrike after the Pulwama accident, some foreign media have cast doubts, which is putting a question mark on the credibility of our Indian government,” Singh said on .Singh said the way PM Modi and his ministers were treating the airstrike was an “insult” to the forces who carried out the operation.A war of words over the Indian Air Force airstrikes in Balakot has broken out between Congress and the BJP as both the sides traded charges against each other. Both the sides have accused each other for politicising the IAF airstrike.
