Madhya Pradesh horror: Minor girl gang-raped, beheaded by brothers, uncle

A 12-year-old Dalit girl was kidnapped, gang-raped and beheaded allegedly by her brothers and uncle in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district on Thursday, March 14.
According to police, four of the accused have been arrested and one is absconding. The police have charged three of her brothers, her uncle and aunt for the heinous crime. One of the accused arrested is a minor. The girl, a class 6 student, did not return from school the previous day i.e.Wednesday. Her family started looking for her but failing to locate her the girl’s father filed a “missing” complaint with the police in the district.
Her body was found the next day in an agricultural field outside Berkhedi village. Initially, the police declared a reward of Rs 10,000, which was increased to Rs 25,000 for information regarding the accused.”On March 14 at around 7 pm the headless body of the girl was found lying close to her village and her severed head was found around 50-100 meters away,” the ASP of Sagar district said. According to reports, when the girl threatened to inform the police, the accused raped her, strangled her to death, chopped off her head and dumped the body.
The police doubted after the girl’s uncle alleged that one Chote Patel, who lives in the same village, had killed her. Patel and the family were locked in a land dispute, he informed the police. The body was sent for post mortem examination to the hospital in Banda town. The report revealed that the girl was raped.
The girl’s uncle tried to mislead investigators but more questioning disclosed the involvement of the girl’s relatives in the horrific crime.

WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED?The victim was allegedly taken by one of her brothers to their uncle’s place when she was returning home from school.
The uncle, accompanied by his two sons, allegedly gang-raped her and when she threatened to go to the police, her aunt allegedly strangled her. She was then beheaded and dumped in the fields. The blood-stained clothes of the girl and the weapon used to murder her was also recovered. Further investigation is underway and the police are trying to locate the girl’s another brother.

Changing of World Cup 2019 schedule: PCB to take a strong stance over India’s request

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to take a strong but dignified and civilised stance against India’s request of changing 2019 World Cup schedule.
It has been learnt through reliable sources that the PCB will be taking up the issue at the right platform and remind the cricket world that as par the International Cricket Council constitution, sports and politic should and must be kept separate.Sources further stated that the PCB will argue that a qualified team for the World Cup cannot be removed from the event by anybody, and the letter that the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Committee of Administrators (COA) wrote to the International Cricket Council (ICC) holds no significance. Even the committee does not qualify or have the right on technical ground to write to the ICC, the source added.
The ICC constitution clearly states that it won’t accept the government intervention in cricket which clearly nullify the BCCI’s stance that they wrote to the ICC on their government’s direction, stated another source.Only recently an international shooting event qualification was cancelled by the International Olympic Committee after India refused Pakistan shooters visa. After India’s denial of visas to two Pakistani shooters and one coach for ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol in New Delhi, Pakistan put forwarded two demands to the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF). Similarly, the Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports (ACBS) also cancelled the Indian leg of the Asian Tour 10 Reds Snooker tournament due to refusal of visas to Pakistani cueists.
PCB will also discuss the issue of the ban that was imposed on captain Sarfraz Ahmed. Furthermore, PCB will hold dialogues with other cricket boards to send their senior as well as junior teams to Pakistan.
Let it be known that ICC has already announced that the World Cup schedule or venues will not be changed.LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to take a strong but dignified and civilised stance against India’s request of changing 2019 World Cup schedule.

NEW DELHI (AFP) – An Indian snooker tournament has been indefinitely postponed in a row over visas for Pakistani athletes following a suicide bomb attack New Delhi has blamed on Pakistan.
The 10 Reds Asian Tour event, scheduled to be held in Bangalore next month, looks likely to be cancelled after organisers said they could not guarantee Pakistani competitors would be allowed into the country. It follows the International Olympic Committee’s suspension of talks with India on holding major sports events last week after New Delhi refused to issue visas to two Pakistani shooters to take part in a World Cup event.Tensions between the nuclear-armed rivals have risen following a February 14 suicide attack in Kashmir in which 40 Indian paramilitaries were killed. It might be moved out, it has already been postponed, a senior Asian Confederation of Billiards Sport (ACBS) official said of the tour event, speaking on condition of anonymity.Read Also: India fears Olympic isolation over Pakistan visa rowThe participation of every member nation is paramount and is the responsibility of the host country.
After legs in Qatar and China, the Bangalore tournament was to be the third on the Asian tour. But Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI) secretary S.Subramaniam told AFP six of the 24 proposed competitors were of Pakistani origin.Since their visas will be an issue we informed the Asian body and they postponed the event. They are looking for venues elsewhere, he said. The IOC has also told individual sports federations not to award events to India until it can guarantee visas for all competitors. The Kashmir attack sparked nationwide outrage in India where there have been calls to boycott the India-Pakistan cricket World Cup match in England in June.India’s captain Virat Kohli said at the weekend the team will stand by any decision taken by the government and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Pulwama Terror Attack: How will it impact India vs Pakistan cricket?

The Pulwama terror attack resulted in the death of 42 CRPF personnelIndia and Pakistan’s cricketing ties have been strained ever since 2008 Mumbai Terror attacks.India and Pakistan will square off in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in Manchester.
The Pulwama terror attack is the bloodiest attack on India’s security forces ever since the terror attack in Uri in 2016. At least 42 CRPF personnel were killed when their vehicle was blown up by an improvised explosive device or IED explosion on the Srinagar-Jammu highway in the Awantipora area of the district.
The attack has angered the people of India, with many sporting personalities venting their anger out on . The likes of Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Yogeshwar Dutt, Sushil Kumar, Bajrang Punia, Saina Nehwal and others all offered their condolences.
Gambhir, who retired from all forms of cricket recently and has been vocal on a lot of issues, went one step further stating, Yes, let’s talk with the separatists. Yes, let’s talk with Pakistan.
But this time conversation can’t be on the table, it has to be in a battle ground. Enough is enough.
Gambhir’s aggressive tone is nothing surprising. After any terror attack by Pakistan on Indian soil, a pattern emerges in the aftermath.
There is widespread condemnation on social media, Bollywood and sports personalities vent their anger out on , channels show debates and there are visuals of ordinary citizens calling out for revenge against Pakistan while there is renewed call for tough military action against Pakistan. The 2016 terror attacks in Uri, which resulted in the death of 18 soldiers of the Indian Army, strained the relationship even further.
Priority is to expose Pak as country which sponsors terrorism. No question of playing cricket with such a nation, the-then BCCI president Anurag Thakur had said about cricketing ties.
Pulwama Terror Attack: Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag and India’s sporting stars vent angerVirat Kohli slammed for ‘insensitive’ tweet over Pulwama terror attackPulwama Terror Attack: Stand by our Indian friends during this difficult hour, says IsraelToo much at stakeThis is the year of the ICC Cricket World Cup and India will play Pakistan in Manchester on June 16. It is THE marquee match of the tournament.
There is plenty of pride at stake for cricketing fans of both nations. There is plenty riding financially for the International Cricket Council (ICC) and for world cricket.
Will Pulwama be the final full stop in India vs Pakistan cricketing relations? Will India go the extra mile and boycott the game against Pakistan in Manchester due to the attacks in Pulwama? The answer is NO.For all the bluster shown by the Indian public when it comes to taking revenge on Pakistan for a terror attack, they become awkwardly silent when it comes to an India vs Pakistan cricket match.
Keep politics away from sports. The players are not responsible for this situation.
This is the common mantra related by many individuals when it comes to a sporting contest. Sports are beyond politics.
It is often stated that sports individuals are soft targets for the policies of a state. The sad part is that the anger and bluster shown by the Indian fan will fizz out when it comes to the World Cup encounter.
The people who head the game will not want to jeopardise a massive money-making opportunity. The cricket fans’ will conveniently forget all the pain and talks about revenge to don the tri-colour and cheer for the team when they defeat Pakistan.
The government will conveniently not want to interfere. Since it is election season, the Pulwama attack could potentially be used as an election sop.
The sporting issue will just endure another year of stalemate. Will India follow England’s lead and not play a league game in the Cricket World Cup like they did in 2003? In 2003, England’s players faced plenty of domestic pressure to boycott their game in Harare, Zimbabwe over the atrocities’ committed by the Robert Mugabe regime at that time.
The boycott resulted in England’s early elimination but they held on. Although atrocities and terrorism are a different dynamic, this falls under the prism of morality.
For people who say keep politics away from sport, they conveniently forget about how sporting isolation played a small but significant part in the downfall of apartheid in South Africa. The anger and calls for revenge are at fever pitch and will endure for a couple of days on social media.
