Peroxide causes irritation and redness

Peroxide is a good antiseptic that deals really well with small scratches, wounds, and cuts. But it’s not a great idea to use it as a component of a homemade skincare product. The thing is, peroxide usually causes skin irritation and redness.Benzoyl peroxide can work wonders for killing pimple causing bacteria, too much of it on any one spot can cause redness and flaking. That’s because it diminishes the amount of oil the skin produces. The key is to use it sparingly. What’s more, if you use it too often, it damages the protective skin functions and affects the skin’s moisture level.
