“I am amazed by the idea of an ecosystem, which can innovate ideas so rapidly” Shoaib Siddiqui

Mr. Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui (Federal Secretary for MoITT), along with Mr. Adeel Sheikh (Joint Director MoITT and Mr. Khurram Saleem (Head of Operational Excellence Ignite) visited National Incubation Center Karachi. They met and discussed ideas, products and services of various startups. Dr. Sarosh Lodhi (Vice Chancellor NED University) was also present during this time.
Mr. Shoaib Siddiqui interacted with the NIC Karachi startups and keenly listened to their ideas. During his speech he encouraged startups for possible synergies between the new ventures and Federal Ministry of IT & Telecom.
Program Director, Mr. Shahjahan Chaudhary presented the vision of NIC Karachi to Mr. Shoaib and said: “At NIC Karachi 49 startups are incubated out of which 17 startups graduated in July, 2019 with the active support of Ignite and MoITT. In addition, NIC Karachi has hosted over 300 events in the past year which helped many startups and individuals development. “
He further added, “When startups come together on a single platform it helps in studying the patterns from bird’s eye view and gives opportunities to take actions for solving problems efficiently faced by all to help them prosper. We should hire graduates and develop them to collate a pool of talent.”
During his closing remarks, Mr. Shoaib said, “I am amazed by the idea of an ecosystem, which can innovate ideas so rapidly in the technology space by bringing about economic empowerment to the region. Centers like NIC, connect these young minds with great opportunity by exposing them to industry mentors transforming them in to cutting edge businesses. Economic empowerment will harness the youth bulge and productively contribute to the economic arena.”
